Eastern Music Awards is an annual award scheme organized by Hi5 Empire, Ghanaian company, the aim of the award is to recognize talented artists and personalities who are helping in producing good songs that’s positively building the music industry.
The second edition of the Eastern Music Awards was launched in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua at Plush Linda Dor Plaza Hotel. The event launch featured Guest Speakers such as Obour; MUSIGA President, Richie Mensah of Lynx Entertainment and the Marketing Manager for Apprise Music.
The Marketing Manager of Apprise Music took his turn to share information on the importance for musicians to acquire and get curious on the emerging digital music space so as to enable them keep up with the fast evolving music industry. Apprise Music offered the musicians with many options for music distribution and promotions and also assisted the musicians to gain affordable and equal access to all channels of digital music distribution by providing free subscription to the musician at the workshop.
The Municipal Chief Executive of New Juabeng Ike Appaw-Gyasi who was the Chairman for the launch said there are a lot of talents in the Eastern Region who, by the presence of Obour and Richie Mensah would be encouraged to be part of the Eastern Music Awards.
He added that “Arts and Culture is the catalyst for growth in every country all over the world. If we make a mistake of not promoting the music industry, then the nation has no future.”
Also present were Owoahene K. Acheampong, President of the Presenters Association of The Eastern Region – PATER, Peter Marfo (President of the Eastern Region MUSIGA), the media and musicians in the Eastern Region.
Some musicians who were also present to perform are Prophet Peter Akunor, Koo Kyei, Nuru Shaba, Nayo, Amazyn Gee, Fada Garza, and Blaq Syrup.
The MC for the launch was Dr. Prekese, Drive Time Host on Bryt FM and Programmes Head for Joy Daddy Multimedia.
