2020 has been a year like no other in our lifetime. As the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak early in the year has led to a dramatic loss of human lives and presents an unprecedented challenge to public health and the world of work, it is fair to say that our generation has never faced anything quite like this; and yet, grateful we are still here; observing Covid19 prevention measures and hoping for brighter days. If the year has been like a nightmare for most people, one can surely imagine that it has been a greater struggle for vulnerable children.

While we are beginning to see some normalcy return to a few countries, economies are yet to recover from the changes that were caused by the new corona virus.

These are truly times that human beings need to support one another to enhance our emotional connectivity which remains a core part of being human. We need each other’s psychological survival for preserving our lives – it is Time to Care.

TIME TO CARE is a music & charity project to raise funds to orphan children from the Village of Hope

In support of this call; renowned guitarist, composer, music educator, producer and humanitarian Constant Boty initiated TIME TO CARE PROJECT to which he invited London- based Russian/Polish jazz vocalist, Tamara Raven, to stand for the children of Village of Hope in Gomoa-Fetteh in need of aid; in that together, they will produce Time to Care, a beautiful piece of music composed by Boty, that magnificently resonates with the world’s current situation. “Music comes to me by divine means so I am just striving to give back the divine in myself to the divine in all. “ Boty said.

The song’s lyrics, written by a young poet, Dzidzo Johnson, contain a simple message: We all need to join hands and offer care to those who need it the most. This lyricist, incidentally, is an alumna of Hope Christian Academy, one of Village of Hope’s educational institutions. Since 2002, Hope Christian Academy has provided basic education to orphans and vulnerable children as well as members of the rural Gomoa-Fetteh and surrounding communities in the Central Region of Ghana.

The focus of Constant Boty and, therefore, the purpose of Time to Care are to raise funds to purchase desperately needed equipment for Hope Christian Hospital’s newly constructed pediatric wing. Hope Christian Hospital is another subsidiary ministry of Village of Hope and provides care primarily to the children of Village of Hope and the entire Gomoa-Fetteh Township. What better way to care for abandoned infants, sick toddlers and preterm babies who are the future of this world, than to have the best equipment and facilities in a rural area where Hope Christian Hospital is the only healthcare facility for over 80 communities.

In the making of the Music, Constant Boty sent the core of the song to Araba Hammond, the music teacher at Village of Hope to rehearse the song with the children, out of which she selected 12. They all joined Constant Boty at Destiny studios in Accra, Ghana, where they had extensive series of rehearsals under the supervision of Boty before engaging in the recording act of Time to Care. From her studio in London, UK, Tamara Raven the lead vocalist on the project recorded her voice, then sound engineer Alfred Djarah put it all together to produce the final mix of Time to Care and the mastering was done by eMastered

Tamara Raven is an award-winning singer and vocal coach who have performed all over the world. Although her career started in opera, she has actively performed jazz pieces and collaborated with many famous artists on the international stage. Constant Boty is an international jazz artist and multi-talented musician. In his career he has played with several Award winning and top musicians across the globe; he has also produced highly acclaimed compositions and educated many people all over the world through music.

The children of Village of Hope are the most excited about this project because they get to be a part of a compelling message that brings people together to give to a cause that many young lives will benefit from. They are greatly anticipating the release of their song in November 2020. Constant Boty is generously giving all the proceeds of the song to Village of Hope to serve their cause. It is indeed Time to Care!
